SPP staff is requesting feedback on the 2023 ITP Short-Circuit Initial-Final models and supplemental data posted to GlobalScape Friday, March 18, 2022. SPP Staff built models using PSS®E version 34.8.

Action Required
SPP staff is requesting stakeholder feedback as follows:
- Data Submitters should review the models to ensure that all submitted updates were implemented correctly. SPP staff should be notified of any discrepancies in a timely fashion.
- Verify topology is modeled appropriately
- Submit topology updates as PSS®E version 34.8 idev files through the SPP Request Management System (RMS); any questions or feedback should be submitted through the SPP Request Management System (RMS). PSS®E version 34.8 idev files are used to update the current model set. The submission of a MOD project is required for inclusion in the next model build.
When submitting projects and profiles to MOD or post processing idevs, use the following naming convention:
- Prefix the project/profile name with your owner/area number underscore company name underscore XXXX OR company name underscore XXXX if you do not have an area/owner number. For example:
- Project name: 525_WFEC_Midwest-Franklin_Rebuild.prj or Nextera_Add_GenX.prj
- Profile name: 659_BEPC_2017MDWGP4-18S or Nextera_2017MDWGP4-18S
- The file name should be separated by underscores instead of spaces (e.g., 525_Patent_Gate.prj)
- For NTC projects, include the UID or PID number at the end. For example, 659_Patent_Gate_UID300.prj or 659_Patent_Gate_UID300.idv
As a reminder, a year 2 summer peak model will be used for the 2023 ITP short-circuit assessment in consideration of NERC Standard TPL-001. ITP needs will be identified from this Short-Circuit model.
The 2022 series MDAG and 2023 ITP models are being built in parallel; however, the models will be posted separately. Please refer to the model build schedule located on the SPP corporate website under the MDAG page (2022 Series MDAG and 2023 ITP Powerflow and Short Circuit Model Build) for deadlines and milestones.
